The hexagonal box and cover fitted with a removable inner tray supported by another removable inner tray supporting three diamond-shaped incense boxes, the exterior of the box lavishly decorated in gold and silver takamaki-e and kirigane details with a stream, hillocks and flowering cherry trees and two pines on a bright kinji ground, the design repeated under circular and lozenge shaped clouds on the sides of the box, the upper interior tray matching with nashiji base, the three diamond-shaped boxes lacquered in gold takamaki-e with flower roundels on a further kinji ground and with nashiji interiors, the tray supporting the inner boxes also nashiji and the interior of the main box and underside also nashiji- 4 1/8 in. (10.4 cm.) diameter, 2 in. (5 cm.) high, small corner chips
