Of rounded, rectangular shape lacquered on the lid and sides with four large tsuba, two kozuka and two small red-haired shojo seated next to a jar of wine all on a roiro-nuri ground sprinkled with gold, the tsuba rendered in gold and silver or black takamaki-e with geese and reeds, flowering plants, a black whale and waves or sea shells reserved on gold, silver or hirame grounds with details in hiramaki-e, togidashi and cut-gold, the interior of the box nashiji- 5 5/8 x 4 1/2 x 2 5/8 in. (14.3 x 11.4 x 6.2 cm.), corner cracks
