EDO PERIOD (19TH CENTURY), SIGNED SHIOMI MASANARI

Of rectangular form decorated in gold hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, togidashi and muranashiji on a roiro-nuri ground with three monkeys playing amongst persimmon branches, the leaves and fruits of which are inlaid in mother of pearl and ivory, fitted with an ojime and kagamibuta netsuke, both chipped- 3 3/8 in. (8.5 cm.) high, surface nicks and repairs
