Carved in the form of a beauty standing on a circular plinth holding in one hand a folded fan and in the other a spray of peonies, dressed in formal costume with elaborate headdress, the terminal of the hairpins in the form of birds, one pin missing at back, the robes etched with flowers and the obi etched with phoenix medallions and waves, signed on an inlaid red lacquer cartouche on base- 20 3/4 in. (52.5 cm.) high, hairline age cracks
