MEIJI PERIOD (LATE 19TH CENTURY), SEALED SHINKAI INOUE
Of high shouldered ovoid form rising from a splayed foot, cast in high relief with a small frog perched on a large lotus leaf enwrapping the vase, the leaf incised with veins and finished with a rich brown patina suffused with red, the area below the leaf simulating the pond finished with a more greenish-brown patina, seal on base, in fitted wood box- 12 7/8 in. (32.8 cm.) high
