The rectangular small chest fitted with two hinged doors opening to reveal three black lacquer removable drawers lined in purple velvet and mounted with silver pulls, the interiors of the doors set with black lacquer panels, engraved on the exterior with butterflies on the lid and with chrysanthemums floating on a stream on the doors and sides, the raised silver mounts chased with foliate scroll, stamped marks 'silver' and manufacturer's mark- 5 1/8 x 3 3/4 x 4 5/8 in. (13 x 9.5 x 11.7 cm.)
