This or another extremely close version is published in Yokoyama Taikan Kinenkan, Nihon no Kyosho: Yokoyama Taikan (Bijutsu Nenkansha, 1985), "Overview of Works" section, p. 106 bottom row. That work is also titled "Last of the snow" and is dated to 1933. Taikan's interest in capturing the effects of seasonal change began with his morotai painting, and it remained an important aspect of his style.
