A group of three lacquer articles comprising a black and gold lacquer covered cup on a tall, footed stand decorated in hiramaki-e and takamaki-e with phoenixes and diaper patterns on a roiro-nuri ground, the rims of the cup basin and cup mounted in pewter; a negoro lacquer hexagonal deep tray with foliate rim and set on a recessed hexagonal foot; and a domed, circular box and cover carved in high relief with chrysanthemum scroll lacquered in aubergine and green against a red lacquer ground, the interior matching
