A FRENCH SILVER TETE A TETE TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE, Paris, late 19th century, maker's mark of Caron, comprising coffee pot, teapot, cream jug, sugar bowl, two tea cup holders and saucers and two porcelain tea cup liners; of baluster form, raised on three foliate scroll and rocaille feet, the bodies chased with swirling flutes, with ropetwist handles, the coffee pot with removable bone side handle with similar spiral decoration, the covers surmounted by openwork scroll and rocaille finials, the shaped trap with similar sweeping foliate scroll rim above rocaille; the white porcelain cups painted with similar gold rocaille--the coffee pot 6 5/8in. (19.9cm.) high; the tray 17 1/8in. (43.5cm.) wide, gross weight 82 oz.
