A GEORGTE III LARGE SILVER MUG, London, 1784, maker's mark probably that of Hester Bateman or Henry Bayley (Grimwade, Unregistered Marks, no. 3601), baluster on molded circular foot, the front engraved with ribbon headed shield form coat of arms, surrounded by crossed oak branch, the multi scroll handle with baluster drop, with applied shaped thumbpiece--6½in. (16.5cm.) high, 15.5oz.
