A GEORGE III IRISH SILVER EPERGNE, Dublin, 1782, the branches maker's mark of Thomas Jones, the baskets maker's mark of John Lloyd, on four scrolling hoof feet terminating in ram's heads, joined by laurel swags below a pierced oval band supporting an openwork stylized foliate central standard, the boat shaped central basket with pierced bands and circles, the sides with four oval cartouches, two engraved with a crest and two with chased flowerheads, joined by similar swags, with four scroll branches supporting similar circular baskets engraved with the same crest, marked on base, branches and baskets--18 3/4in. (47.6cm.) long, 55.5oz.
