A GEORGE II SILVER KETTLE, STAND AND LAMP, London, 1739, maker's mark of John Swift, slightly compressed spherical, the shoulder chased with rocaille, scrolls and flowers, some on matted ground, below one side engraved with crest, the other with coat of arms headed by female mask and within foliate and fruit asymetrical surround, with partly fluted and rocaille scroll spout, the hinged flat cover with further rocaille and scrolls, topped by bone finial, with raffia covered multi scroll swing handle, the circular stand and plain burner engraved with crest, the stand raised on four part foliate scroll supports resting on rocaille pad feet, with rocaille and openwork scroll apron between --tea kettle on stand over handle 14¼in. (36.9cm.) high, gross weight 71.5oz.
