TEN VICTORIAN SILVER VINAIGRETTES, unless otherwise noted Birmingham, with maker's marks of, with hinged pierced silver gilt grille, with hinged cover, comprising: the first three maker's mark of Edward Smith: the first book form with blue enamelled gothic arches--1846 , the second rectangular oblong, engraved with lush foliate scrolls, vacant cartouche (grille not gilt)--1852, the third shaped rectangular, cover engraved with castle on a river bank, the base with river scene--1849, the fourth oval with cover and base with four engine turned panels divided by scrolls, the front with applied initialled shield--1848, Cronin & Wheeler,, the fifth oblong cast with castle on a river band on finely matted ground, engine turned base--1855, A. Taylor, the sixth small, engraved with flowers, pendant ring--1856, G. Unite, the seventh barrel form, with hinged ends, one with compartment the other with grille, centering screw on capped flask--London, 1871, S. M., the eighth shaped oblong engraved allover with ivy, the cover centering initialled cartouche--2½in.
