A CONTINENTAL SILVER MOUNTED COCONUT EWER, probably German, late 19th Century, the crimpped rimmed, raised circular base chased with panels of turtle, dodo bird and panther, divided by fruit spray, rising to curled scroll and palmette canopy above, supporting the coconut shell, applied three times with caryatid and scroll strap, divided by stylized foliage below, attached to the mount composed of scroll enclosed shell band, rising to griffin and foliate scroll knop, the neck formed as a maiden's bust, with rocaille spout and cast caryatid handle--13¼in. (33.6cm.) high
