A SOUTH AMERICAN SILVER LECTURN, apparently unmarked, mounted on wood frame, triangular with jutting book rest, serpentine base rim, on shaped base, the front chased with angel bust, exotic birds and griffins amid scrolling foliage, the back plate with central bosse chased with amoured angel topped by flutes, below with scalework, centered by four coiling foliate scrolls, within comma scroll border, the sides with conforming coiling foliate scrolls, all on hatched ground, with punched bead rims--13½in. (34.2cm.) high
