AN ENGLISH LIGHT ORANGE-GROUND PART DESSERT SERVICE
Circa 1830, possibly Davenport, gilt pattern no. 2/601
Painted in colours with flower sprays below the wide border gilt with flowers and edged with foliate scrolls, the shaped gilt rim moulded and reserved with paired flowerheads, comprising:
A reticulated two-handled footed basket, 13¾in. (33.7cm.) wide overall
Two sauce-tureens and covers on fixed stands, 7½in. (19cm.) diam., the stands
Two two-handled square dishes, 11in. (27.9cm.) wide overall
Two two-handled lozenge-shaped dishes, 10 1/8in. (25.7cm.) wide overall
Three two-handled rectangular dishes, 12in. (30.4cm.) long overall
Ten dessert plates, 9in. (22.8cm.) diam. (20)
