A WORCESTER (CHAMBERLAINS) BLUE-GROUND ARMORIAL AND CRESTED PART SERVICE
Circa 1825, iron-red printed mark to some
Painted in red with the head of a griffin on a torsade with a gilt surround of scrolls and pendant flower-heads, the blue rim with a milled edge and moulded shells enriched with gilt, the tureen with the full coat-of-arms, comprising:
A soup-tureen and cover, 11½in. (29.2cm.) wide
A sauce-tureen and cover, 6½in. (16.5cm.) wide
A large oval platter, 17¾in. (45.1cm.) wide
A small oval platter, 10½in. (26.7cm.) wide
Seven dinner plates, 9½in. (24.1cm.) diam.
Two dessert plates, 7 1/8in. (18.1cm.) diam.
Two soup plates, 9 5/8in. (24.5cm.) diam. (15)
