A CHIPPENDALE WALNUT SLANT-FRONT DESK, possibly Charleston, South Carolina, 1760-1780, the rectangular hinged lid opening to a tiger maple interior of a prospect door flanked by two fluted document drawers and four valanced pigeon holes and two pairs of shaped short drawer all above a case fitted with four graduated cockbeaded long drawers flanked by fluted quarter columns, on ogee bracket feet (feet replaced)--41in. high, 40in. wide, 20¾in. deep
