A FRENCH SILVER PITCHER, maker's mark M. Fray, mid to late 19th Century, broadly fluted bombe, on raised shaped circular base, chased with differing foliage to base and shoulder, two sides of the mid section chased with rocaille, flowering foliage and scroll enclosed oval cartouche containing engraved foliate centered paterae topped by chased flower basket, the elaborately foliate wrapped multi scroll handle topped by Watteauesque seated maiden, terminating in nude female, the broad spout with shaped applied rim--12½in. (31.7cm.) high, 35oz.
