The rectangular box with hinged domed lid, the side with putti caryatids standing atop rocaille scrolls, the handles as opposing putti herms with scroll bodies curled back and centering a shell, the porcelain side panels painted in colours with amorous couples in landscapes framed by the elaborate baroque style mounts, the cartouche centering the domed cover inscribed 'Alla Carissima Lily Ricordo d'Italia L.P. 1893', the interior hinge inscribed 'Fratelli Leony Via Roma 8 - Genova'-- 9 1/8 x 14 x 10¼in.
