With an eared D-shaped ormolu-moulded white marble top above a conforming panelled frieze fitted with two drawers, on chamferred square supports backed by panels over an ormolu-moulded white marble tier, on square tapering legs with cap feet, twice stamped F DURAND FILS--38¾in. (99cm.) high, 67in. (170.1cm.) wide, 20½in. (52cm.) high

Lot Essay

Frédéric-Louis Durand, son of Gervais-Maximilien-Eugène Durand, collaborated with his father and ultimately succeeded him in 1920. He is recorded as having worked at 8 rue du Petit-Musé until 1933 when he moved to 10 rue des Lions (see Denis Ledoux-Lebard, Les Ébénistes du XIXìeme Siècle, 1984, pp. 181-182).
