Collation: A6 b-l6 m4 n-o6 p-r4 2b-2f6 (A1r title, verses by the editor, A1v editor's address to Agostino and Giovanni Adorno dated 4 July 1498, A4r verses by the editor, A4v tabula, b1r civil statutes, r3v register, r4 blank, 2b1r criminal statutes, 2f5r colophon and register, 2f5v tabula, 2f6r printer's device, 2f6v blank). 124 leaves, b1-r3 foliated 1-87, 2b1-2f5 foliated 1-29. 46 lines and headline. Type 6:87R, Greek (dedication). 4- to 9-line initial spaces with guide letters, printer's device (Kristeller 4). (Corner of first ten leaves repaired with a few letters supplied in pen facsimile, neat repairs in a few other leaves, final quire repaired at hinge.) Modern light brown panelled calf blindstamped in a 15th-century style.

Provenance: Julius Caesar..., partially effaced inscription on A1r; Giovanni d'Andrea Oddi, Lodisio Oddi, inscriptions on b1r; early annotations in margins and on final blank leaf.

FIRST EDITION of the statutes of Genoa. The reading of the last line in quire l6r agrees with the British Library copy IB. 28996a.
