Lot Essay

The offered lot is a reproduction of one supplied by Georges Jacob to the Comte D'Artois at Versailles in 1781, which now resides in the Louvre. Towards the end of the 19th Century, this highly popular design was widely reproduced by such ebenistes as A. Beurdeley and H. Dasson. See ?
