Preeminent Talbot scholar, Harold White was one of the first to research and lecture on Talbot's life and work. Working extensively with Talbot's grandaughter, Miss Matilda Talbot, he dedicated his life to researching a biography on the photographer. Perhaps his greatest acheivement is the collation of Talbot's correspondence for the Lacock Collection, at Lacock Abbey, Talbot's home. His personal collection of Talbot's work was not only one of the first but one of the finest documents of early photographic work on paper.
