ORIGINAL WALLS FROM DAVID O. SELZNICK'S RETREAT, 1920'S
In the 1920's and 1930's many of Hollywood's greatest stars were guests of David Selznick at his rustic mountain retreat in the San Bernadino Mountains of California. The 15,000 square foot house known as "Hill-Haven" became a get-away for movie stars seeking privacy from public life. As a "guest book", the visitors would sign two hallway walls. These oak panel walls contain over one hundred original pencil inscriptions and drawings representing a true "Who's Who in Hollywood." Included are Arrowhead The vastness of it all - The wide open spaces, just like Sophie Tucker! Charlie Chaplin; Thank you dear Myron for the first and I hope the worst hangover of 1940 Love and kisses Larry Olivier; humorous messages from Merle Oberon, Alfred Hitchcock, David Niven, George Cukor; actress Paulette Goddard (who lost the part of Scarlett to Vivien Leigh) signs Scarlett Goddard--59 1/2 x 35 inches each.
