Lot Essay

The description of the activities of a Russian Fleet from 22 April 1792 to 24 July 1800 in sea-battles against the Dutch. The binding is typical of the library of Emperor Paul and Maria Pavlovna at Pavlovsk, but with replaced bookplate of A.V. Golovnin. After the latter's death his library was incorporated into that of Pavlovsk.
