Expanded from the 10-volume first edition of 1773-75, this edition, printed with a tirage of some 1200 copies, contains articles on geography, economics and topography, as well as literature, history and theology. Novikov, the printer at the Moscow University Press, was arrested in 1792 for his masonic activities.
