William Worcester Churchill was born in 1858 in Boston. After studying in Paris under Bonnat, he returned to Boston and became a member of the Saint Botolph club. Along with inclusions of his work in the Pan-American exposition in Buffalo, 1901 and the 109th Annual Exhibition at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, 1914, Churchill's work was also featured at the Panama-Pacific Exposition in San Francisco which celebrated the completion of the Panama Canal.
