A LARGE INLAID CELADON VASE
KORYO DYNASTY (12TH CENTURY)

The large pear form vase inlaid in white and black slip with six long stands of chrysanthemums, the blossoms white and the stems and details black, each bordered by narrow incised lines which separate the designs into six panels, the neck incised with three additional rings and the body incised with two double rings, covered with a greyish green celadon glaze with dense crackle and covered with a lustrous transparent glaze- 13 1/8 in. (33.5 cm.) high
