A REVERSE-INLAY CELADON BOWL
KORYO DYNASTY (LATE 12TH-EARLY 13TH CENTURY)

The deep and round bowl decorated with a reverse inlay pattern in white slip of a wide band of peony scroll centering four peony medallions encircled by double lines, this above four inlaid chrysanthemum sprays centering the short ring foot and below an inlaid narrow foliate band, covered overall with a transparent and crystalline light green celadon glaze with sparse large and some smaller crackle, kiln fault on interior of ring foot- 6 1/4 in. (16 cm.) diameter, damage restored
