A BALE-FORM PUNCH'ONG WINE-FLASK
CHOSON DYNASTY (15TH CENTURY)

The cylindrical stoneware body with one end rounded and the other sloping to a flat base and ring foot, pierced in the mid-section with a circular aperture and fitted with a slightly flared spout. Decorated with a broad band of impressed flowerheads filled with brush-applied white slip and bordered by three parallel lines at each end and a narrower band of rice-grain pattern. Finished with a clear celadon glaze--5 1/2in. (14cm.) high x 9 1/2in. (24.2cm.) diameter
