A LARGE IMPERIAL CELADON GREEN JADE ARCHAISTIC VASE
INSCRIBED JIAQING SIX-CHARACTER FANG GU MARK AND OF THE PERIOD
The thick-walled, flattened ovoid body carved in low relief around the sides with two taotie masks reserved on a wide diaper band set between key-pattern bands outlined in ropetwist borders, with a ruyi band above the waisted foot and a band of scroll-decorated, pendent blades on the neck between the pair of animal-mask and loop handles suspending loose rope-twist rings, with key-pattern borders encircling the mouth and foot rims, the stone of soft celadon color with some opaque buff mottling--12¾in. (32.4cm.) high
