A WELL-CARVED EMERALD-GREEN AND PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADEITE TRIPOD CENSER AND COVER

Raised on three paw supports, one side of the compressed body carved in high relief from the emerald-green and dark green area of the icy greenish-white stone with a dragon and a phoenix amidst vapor supporting a flaming pearl, the reverse carved in low relief with a pavilion supported by waves and surrounded by a pair of fish and a pair of cranes, with a pair of dragon-mask handles suspending loose rings, the cover surmounted by an openwork finial formed by a phoenix and a coiled peony branch with five small subsidiary branches forming loops from which loose rings are suspended--7in.
