A MING BLUE AND WHITE MEIPING
LATE 15TH CENTURY

Well painted in 'windswept style' with two officials conversing in a garden while their attendants converse on the other side of the pine and willow trees which divide and overhang the scene beneath trailing cloud-like vapor issuing from one side, bordered by a band of petal lappets below and bands of phoenix amidst lotus meander and further petal lappets above, the flared neck encircled by detached clouds, all within double-line borders, small mouth rim chips--12½in. (31.8cm.) high
