THREE MING SANCAI-GLAZED ROOFTILE FIGURES
16TH/17TH CENTURY
Comprising a pair of fish-form rooftiles, each molded as a carp resting its head with mouth open on an arched base, its long scaly body extended upwards, picked out in vibrant green, amber, and cream glazes; the third a warrior equestrian figure, the caparisoned horse striding forward on an arched base, its head turned towards its back, the fully armored soldier leaning slightly forward in the saddle, picked out in deeper shades of amber and green, some chips and repairs--13 and 14 1/4in. (33 and 36.3cm.) high
