Shown standing on a mound of swirling, spume-flecked waves, her hands held at the waist, one concealed beneath her long-sleeved robe, the other holding a scroll, her face with downcast eyes and benign expression framed by pendulous lobes and her hair drawn up in a rounded topknot, molded with jeweled ruyi pectoral at the chest and jeweled lotus chains at the hem, the back incised with two characters, yu tang, covered overall with a glaze of milk-white tone, filled-in firing cracks at base, chips--15 1/4in. (38.7cm.) high
