A FINE ENAMELED AND ANHUA-DECORATED SAUCER DISH
CHENGHUA SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE, KANGXI

The interior decorated in anhua with alternating dragons and phoenix racing amidst clouds around the sides above a coiled, leafy tendril enameled in green bearing a green blossom with iron-red stamen, within double-line borders and repeated as a frieze on the exterior between bands of diaper and classic scroll--7 7/8in. (20cm.) diam.

Dishes of this pattern with a Yongzheng mark are in the S.C. Ko Tianminlou Collection, Catalogue no. 95, and in the Reemtsma Collection, included in the Hamburg Museum fur Kunst und Gewerke Exhibition, Tausend Jahre Chinesiche Keramik, 1974, Catalogue no. 209.
