A blue glass example, illustrated by Robert W. L. Kleiner, Chinese Snuff Bottles from the Collection of John Ault, p. 6, fig. 2, is attributed to the Kangxi period (1662-1722). Kleiner mentions that, when the Kangxi Emperor arrived on a progress in Suzhou in 1705, he gave gifts of glass from the imperial workshops to an official, Song Luo, including two gold-flecked blue bottles
