Comprising a pitcher and two handled mugs: the pitcher of baluster form with black transfer printed text at neck, "In commemoration of the Visit of General La Fayette to the U.S. of America, in the year 1824." above a portrait oval of LaFayette with garlanded surround, and "First in War, Firs in Peace And First in the Hearts of his Fellow Citizens." above an portrait oval of George Washington with garlanded surround, the two centered in front by a spreadwing and starred and striped eagle with "Republicans Are Not Always Ungrateful"; the transfer printed mug with green band above a scene of children playing below the letters "JKL"; the second mug transfer printed with Franklin's Maxims; together with a bronze lustrware mug with blue and orange band decoration--the pitcher 5¼ in. high (3)
