A SGRAFFITO DECORATED REDWARE JAR
POSSIBLY CONRAD MUMBOUER, 1761-1845,HAYCOCK TOWNSHIP, BUCKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, 1794-1844

Cylindrical with flaring rim, glazed in yellow with daubs of green slip and decorated with incised notched tulips-and-vines alternating with budding flowers--6in. high, 5 3/8in. diam.

Lot Essay

Two similar examples are now in the Pennsylvaniana German collection of the Phialdelphia Museum of Art and is illustrated in Garvan, page 186 numbers 74 and 75.
