They have neglected to make me returns or remittances, for two or three years...Mr. Clay has acted as my Attorney in the business. Will you be kind enough to call on Mr. Clay, & ask him whether he knows the reasons of their neglect...Not only the justice of the case, but my particular circumstances require that [they] should no longer delay their returns. Perhaps Mr. Clay can point out some measures which I ought to pursue..."
