The Duke and Duchess of Windsor

This tray was presented to the Duke and Duchess of Windsor by a group of Americans to commemorate a visit to the United States in the early 1940s, when the Duke was Governor of the Bahamas. The signatures on this salver include those of some of their closest friends, including: Herman Rogers: He and his wife Katharine housed Wallis Simpson at Villa Lou Viei, their chateau in Cannes, during the abdication crisis in December, 1936.
