With gilt-striped ground, the middle with a wide band painted in colours with birds in landscapes within square cartouches flanked by pink nymphs seated on foliate scrolls holding ribbon-tied berried garlands, the handles formed as gilt lion masks and loose rings (rings later, one neck restored)--13 5/8in. The painted decoration is inspired by a gouache by J.T. Lagrenée, who was appointed artistic Director at Sèvres in 1785.
