A PAIR OF RUSSIAN PORCELAIN PLATES

One painted with a Russian peasant selling flowers, a bird seller behind him, named on the reverse 'Les marchands de fleurs et de cagas.'; the second painted with two peasant women in fur-lined coats standing outside a log house in a landscape, named on the reverse 'Une femme d'Asamar.', both with a wide gilt band and gilt border of palmets alternating with honeysuckle and with gilt rims (the first with rim chip, the other broken and restuck, surface wear and wear to gilding on both)--9 5/8in. (24.5cm.) diam. (2)
