CIRCA 1720, BY GAUDRON A PARIS

With circular ormolu dial engraved with a trophy emblematic of the Arts and Sciences fitted with enamelled roman chapters above twin putti flanking a plaque inscribed Gaudron A Paris, within an arched shaped case fitted with a glazed door and mounted with foliate-cast female terms and acanthus brackets, the domed top surmounted by a classical vessel, the bracket with S-shaped volutes headed by shells issuing pendant foliage and ending in a pierced acanthus-cast fruiting finial (restorations)-47in. (119.5cm.) high, 13¼in. (33.5cm.) wide, 5¾in. (14.5cm.) deep
