Lot Essay

Les clowns à la lune bleue was woven by the Atelier Gisèle Brivet in Aubusson under the supervision of Picasso. The design is related to the lithograph Deux clowns (Bloch 766) which Picasso executed in Vallauris, March 24, 1954.
