A FINE KOTA RELIQUARY GUARDIAN FIGURE, mbulu ngulu

With pierced triangular body, a concave oval face, the quadrants with parallel horizontal copper strips, disk eyes, pyramidal nose, open mouth, flaring crescent above, and cuving side panels with projections below, decorated with applied brass sheets attached with staples to wood core, two disks on both sides of top crest, lozenge relief form on back, unpolished.
