MEIJI PERIOD (LATE 19TH CENTURY), SIGNED KINRYOKUZAN, SEALED AND MARKED WITH SHIMAZU [SATSUMA] MON

Of ovoid form set on a splayed base with waisted neck and rolled lip, painted in colored enamels and gilt with stands of chrysanthemums and pines or iris and paulownia by a stream, the shoulder encircled by a band of floral diaperwork and the foot by a band of gilt and cobalt blue leaves, the neck ringed by florets and geometric patterns- 7 1/4 in. (18.4 cm.) high
