TWO HAMMERED COPPER VESSELS
EDO PERIOD (18TH AND 19TH CENTURY)
The first a bowl set on three animal head supports with scalloped, foliate rim applied with four floret-and-loop bosses, decorated on the exterior with foliate scroll and in the well with five confronted blossoms, rendered in hammered silver; the second a brazier of square section on a flat base fitted with a hinged handle which, when raised, is triangular and, when lowered, rests on two sides, worked in hammered silver on all four sides with a long dragon amidst swirling clouds- 9 3/4 in. (24.8 cm.) diameter and 6 x 3 5/8 in. (15.2 x 9.2 cm.) (2)
