MOMOYAMA PERIOD (CIRCA 1600)
The round iron plate has a lightly hammered surface. The right side of the plate has a design in negative openwork of three wisteria leaves and a hanging bloom. The edge has fine iron bones--height 7.2cm., width 7.1cm., thickness 4.5mm.

This style of katchushi tsuba inspired a similar style employed by the Umetada family of artists in the first hundred years of the Edo period (1600-1700).
